Rêve d’Or was imagined in the auspicious year of 1889, just as the Eiffel Tower rose into the Parisian sky. Europe, enamored with Orientalism at the time, turned toward dreams from the East.
It is to this dreamlike vision that the perfume owes its creation, blending flowers, fruits, and balms with the richness of an invisible palace. The hand of perfumer Georges Darzens, a bold and innovative spirit, was guided not by reality but by the Orient of fairy tales. He introduced aldehydes into the formula— for the first time in perfume history giving the trail a singular, almost unreal vibration.
RĂŞve d’Or first presents itself as a burst of light: pink pepper, lemon, and bergamot shine like the first notes of a lavish prelude, awakening the senses like a dawn in the Orient. Then, the fragrance blossoms into a fruity, mysterious heart where raspberry and blackcurrant, softly entwined, meet noble saffron.
