Caswell-Massey's Rose Perfume is like a fine, dry champagne, delicate and light, and leaving you wanting more. Graceful yet effervescent, it opens with a cocktail of sparkling bergamot and tart black currant that set the stage for the dramatic rise of sweet wild fig and the star, the Heritage Rose. An earthy vetiver base and a trail of musk brings a beautiful finish to this unique and refined take on the rose fragrance.

In a creative collaboration with the master gardeners at the New York Botanical Garden and renowned perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, Caswell-Massey reimagined the authentic scent of the living honeysuckle that blooms at the New York Botanical Garden. Flowering in March and April, the vine grows wild along the pathways, often gracefully meandering onto rocky inclines at the edge of the gardens. The aroma is so vivid and the color so intense that it has become a favorite flower of visitors to identify at the Garden.
Now, with 21st-century fragrance technology, they can responsibly bring the experience of a living garden to you without harming or harvesting flowers using the 'living floral' technique. Applying the living floral fragrance-capture technology, the scent signatures of unharvested flowers can be identified (producing something akin to sheet music), enabling the team to recreate “nature-identical” scent molecules using sustainably-sourced materials (the instruments, to continue the metaphor), without damaging or harming the rare botanical species. These nature-identical molecules are then reimagined by perfumers (the conductors) to create perfumes and eau de toilettes (the finished symphonies) for Caswell Massey's Living Floral collection.
